Steven, It's not about Racial Discrimination against Barry Bonds. Bonds is a jerk and unfriendly to the media and Fans unlike Clemens. Clemens didn't broke Cy Young 515 in wins while Bonds break Hank Aaron homerun record.

AL EAST
Once again, I see two teams that have a chance and three that don’t. Que triste, Torobaltibay…
Boston: Want Santana just to prevent Yanks acquiring. Pitching still scary.
Toronto: Virtually un-changed roster. Good luck keeping the DL under 2,809,123,098 players.
Baltimore: You haven’t had winning season since 1997. Keep the dream alive!
Tampa Bay: Maybe taking “Devil” out of name will help you. Nice try.
AL CENTRAL
Two of you knocked the Yanks out in the last two years. Go to hell, AL Central.
Cleveland: You should’ve beat BoSox. Pitching too good.
Detroit: If beefed-up offense stays healthy, look out Cleveland.
Minnesota: In driver’s seat with Santana, but be smart: deal him.
Chicago: Ozzie Guillen will be the death of you… again.
Kansas City: Would love to see you succeed. Good farm, so someday?
AL WEST
You know rat-ville is coming out on top here, folks
Los Angeles: Hunter signing VERY wise. Extra “i” brings good luck.
Seattle: Current and former players going Clemens route after steroids scandal.
Oakland: Dear Billy Beane. Wise change in stance.
Texas: Otsuka recommended Padres as destination for Japanese players. Texas displeased.
NL EAST
Competition here in 2008!
Philadelphia: Crushing Mets = high spirits. Sidenote: Anna Benson comes with Kris.
New York: Signing veterans like you’re the old Yankees. PS: Get Santana.
Atlanta: If Mets blow it again, maybe you have chance again.
Washington: Got some good youngsters to watch! Maybe people will care.
Florida: Payroll now just under 150 bucks.
NL CENTRAL
Too many teams, too little time.
Chicago: Weren’t you trying to sell the team? What happened?
Milwaukee: I wonder if these people will hope again in 2008.
St. Louis: STILL don’t get how you won in 2006.
Houston: Berkman outspoken about trades but probs won’t be traded himself.
Cincinnati: Reds.com headline: “Reds head to 2008 with clear intentions.” Obviously.
Pittsburgh: Will spend year trying to erase memory of Bonds.
NL WEST
Used to be “forgotten division”… now home to tight race!
Arizona: Yup, it was totally the less-hideous uniforms
San Diego: I still maintain: Who needs offense with this pitching!
Colorado: Congrats on pennant. Unsure what you’ll do in 2008 though.
Los Angeles: Good boy, Torre. Keep quiet and stay loyal to your lads.
San Francisco: No chance.

Lester's A Popular Guy
http://modernrooters.blogspot.com/
Most Red Sox fans probably know how high pitching coach John Farrell is on Jon Lester. Farrell is a strong advocate for keeping the young lefty. He's said that if the Red Sox keep Lester, he "will be counted on heavily once spring training opens."
But Farrell isn't the only one who has flattering things to say about Lester. The 23-year-old pitcher has also garnered praise from outside of the organization. Peter Gammons describes that "after the Cleveland series, the Indians front office, coaches, and player personnel people had a meeting and it was unanimously agreed that after Josh Beckett, the best pitcher on the Red Sox was Lester. That doesn't include Papelbon, different category"
It will be interesting to see what Lester can do next year. He hasn't been at full strength for the better part of the last two years. Peter Gammons cites the fact that Lester's velocity hasn't been normal for some time, and he's not the only one to point that out.
Over Lester's first two years in the Red Sox farm system, his fastball sat in the low 90's and topped out in the mid-90's. But by the time was called up to the Red Sox in 2006, his fastball was sitting in the high 80's and was topping out in the low 90's.
Lester was weak and losing weight. Until he was diagnosed with cancer months later, he didn't understand why. According to Lester, he still weighs himself routinely to assure himself that he isn't relapsing.

Britney Spears in hospital after ambulance drama: police
Britney Spears in hospital after ambulance drama: police
http://afp.google.com/article/ALeqM5jAG82-sc5eD0RMnt8jcstIN0MHlw
LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Britney Spears was being evaluated at a Los Angeles hospital early Friday after being taken from her home by paramedics following the latest twist to the troubled pop star's custody battle.
Spears was taken by stretcher from her home late Thursday following a stand-off which began when she reportedly refused to hand over her two children, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1 to ex-husband Kevin Federline's bodyguard.
Video footage and pictures of the incident shown on celebrity news websites showed a conscious Spears smiling as she was wheeled into an ambulance.
Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Jason Lee said Spears was being detained and evaluated in hospital because officers had found her under the influence of an unknown substance.
Lee said officers had been called to Spears' home at 8 pm Thursday (0400 GMT Friday) to resolve a custody dispute.
Celebrity news websites USmagazine.com and TMZ.com reported that the drama began when Spears failed to hand her two children over as arranged under a court-ordered custody agreement with Federline.
At around 10:30 pm paramedics and an ambulance arrived and shortly afterwards the two children were turned over to Federline after police reviewed court documents, Lee said.
Police could not confirm celebrity news website reports that Spears' youngest son Jayden James had also been taken to the hospital, Lee adding only that there were "no reportable injuries to anyone involved."
Spears, one of the most successful pop stars of her generation, has been embroiled in a bitter custody battle with Federline ever since the couple separated in late 2006.
A judge limited Spears' access to her children in October after she failed to submit to random drug testing as demanded at an earlier hearing where the court ruled Spears was a "habitual, frequent, and continuous" user of "controlled substances and alcohol."
Earlier Thursday Spears began a court-ordered deposition in the custody case after missing several appointments to do so, but appeared for questioning by Federline's lawyer so late that it lasted only 13 minutes, USmagazine reported.
The day before, her lawyers had requested to leave her case, citing "a breakdown in communications" with Spears that made "further representation of her interests impossible."
The court-room drama rumbled throughout a difficult year for Spears that saw her rarely out of the tabloid headlines.
In late 2006 she was repeatedly photographed in nightspots wearing no underwear and was also captured bizarrely shaving her head in a hair salon and attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella. Those episodes were followed by a stint in a rehabilitation treatment center.
In September Spears attempted to resurrect her career but suffered a critical savaging after a live performance at the Video Music Awards.
Nevertheless the release of her first album in four years in October, "Blackout," offered Spears some encouragement with critics broadly hailing the work as a success.
Spears' family was back in the headlines again last month when it emerged that the singer's 16-year-old sister, the star of a popular US television children's show, was pregnant.
Spears shot to superstardom in late 1998, with her smash-hit debut album "Baby One More Time" which she followed with another chart-topping success the following year, "Oops! ... I Did It Again."
According to Time magazine, Spears has sold over 76 million records worldwide, and her 31 million albums sold in the United States make her the eighth best-selling female artist in US music history.
