DAVIE - The Dolphins officially began the process of filling out their front office Monday by interviewing Jets director of college scouting Joey Clinkscales and securing permission to speak with Cowboys vice president of pro scouting Jeff Ireland, according to multiple sources.

Both are under consideration for the vacant general manager position.

New Dolphins vice president of football operations Bill Parcells, who was with the Jets from 1997 through 2000 and the Cowboys from 2003 through 2006, fired general manager Randy Mueller on Monday morning. According to the team, Parcells also fired director of player personnel Mike Baugh and college scouting coordinator Rick Thompson on Monday.

So Parcells plan to improve the Fins is to take the Jet's scouting department to Miami? The same scouting department responsible for the Jets amazing success these past few years? I'd target the Pats or Cowboys myself.

Pros:Has an excellent frame, with room to potentially add more bulk. Good athlete that slides well in pass protection and can adjust to athletic edge rushers. In the running game he shows the ability to drive people off the ball, and the ability to block on the move. Good initial surge at the snap to generate movement and plays with a great hand placement, leverage, and lower body strength. Excellent balance and recognition as a pass blocker. Good overall strength. Can sink his hips and absorb the bull rush. Very imposing at 6’7, 330lbs.
Cons:Isn’t an athletic freak or dominant at the point of attack on every play. Not a great athlete that may lack the upside scouts crave. Can get a little over-aggressive with his hand placement. Broken leg sidelined him in 2005 that will need to be evaluated.

Pros: As a defensive tackle the initial responsibility is to stop the run. Dorsey is not only a run stopper but with his physical ability he is able to get up field and get the ball carrier as well as the QB. Last year, Dorsey started every game and had 64 tackles while have 8.5 of them for a loss and and three sacks.
Cons:Dorsey is not as big as you would like a DT to be. It makes you wonder how he'll hold up in the NFL at the point of attack. He can do a better job of getting off of blocks. Also, Dorsey was banged up as a senior.

Pros:Experienced signal caller who already plays in a pro style offense. Great size for the position. Very sound mechanics to go along with his textbook footwork and a smooth delivery. Displays above average arm strength to make pretty much all of the necessary throws and uses nice touch when necessary. Accurate passer who reads defenses well, makes the necessary checks at the line which is rare for such a young quarterback, and puts the ball in the right spot. Great poise in the pocket and shows the willingness to take a hit. Moves well in the pocket and shows the ability to tuck the ball and run if the play breaks down. Great intangibles, a guy who studies very hard, shows great leadership ability, and displays the ability to bring his team back from a deficit.
Cons:Forces things into tight windows which leads to far too many interceptions. Erratic player who didn't really live up to the hype until his senior year. Small injury history may raise a red flag with some general managers. Takes unnecessary hits at times.

Has been flanked by legitimate NFL-caliber linebackers throughout his career and their presence may hide some of Connor's deficiencies.

Pros:4 year starter at LOT. Baker is tall and athletic with long arms to keep defenders at bay. He has the quickness and good footwork to be an effective blocker. He is an especially effective down blocker and works very well with other offensive linemen. Has no problem getting to the 2nd level.
Cons:Baker can occasionally get too upright at times and he is not as aggressive in pass protection as he is in run blocking. Can get beat by secondary moves. Shows poor technique too often. Possibly overhyped. Limited by a hamstring problem in 2007.

Pros:Doucet has a fairly good combination of size and speed. He has the ability to be a vertical threat and can beat one-on-one coverage to get down the field. Doucet also does a good job of making adjustments to haul in the ball. He also has an impressive track record for stepping up in big games. Doucet has the ability to return kickoffs and is a playmaker in the open field. He also is a willing blocker.
Cons:Doucet does not have great size. He has had some problems with drops and running consistently good routes. Doucet missed five games due to injury as a senior. Accordingly he saw a dramatic drop in production. He also was second fiddle to guys like Craig Davis for much of his time at LSU.
